This glider from Dutalier moves so smoothly that one wonders if it has subverted the laws of physics. Made in Canada, it is solidly constructed from a hard rock maple, although a few bolts do show in the workings underneath the chair. A little assembly is required, which basically involves attaching the top of the chair to its base, but this can be dispensed with using no more than a Philips screwdriver. A lever on the side of the chair allows one to adjust its height for reading or TV viewing. The two arm pads, bottom cushion, and back cushion all snap in place to stay put. They‘re also all pale green with off-white patchwork detailing and pipe trim around their edges. The arm pads each have a convenient outside pocket, while the cushions are made of a polyurethane foam pillow that‘s wrapped in a removable polyester cover. Handy zippers allow the fabric to be easily removed and washed. All around, this chair with its matching ottoman (sold separately) make a great addition to any room--one that will enjoy a position of prominence for years to come.
