Age: The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) states that if exposure to the sun is unavoidable and your baby is under 6 months, a non-chemical sunscreen (like ours) should be used; consult with your physician. The AAP recommends that because an infant's skin is very thin and sensitive, infants under 6 months should be kept out of the sun.

A note from Jessica, developer of California Baby®: Whether it’s overcast, you’re in the car, just had a facial peel, walking the dog…you need a sunscreen! Yet a light and sheer non-chemical sunscreen is hard to find. Many companies list their active ingredient as titanium or zinc oxide, but if you continue down the list, you may likely find chemical sunscreen ingredients, such as octyl methylcinnamate and oxybenzone. This blend is done to achieve a sheer finish—but it isn’t truly non-chemical protection. I wear sunscreen everyday and LOVE this one because it makes protecting my skin easy.
